DOCUMENTS & PROCEDURES FOR REQUESTING A BLACK BELT GRADING

1. Complete a Presentation Letter
   Write and submit a presentation letter outlining your request for grading.
    
2. Submit Your CKA Resume
   Include an updated resume with a recent photo (Template available below).
    
3. Provide Copies of All Previous Grading Certificates
   Submit copies of all your previous grading certificates for review.
    
4. Payment
   A non-refundable payment of $100 must be made via cheque to the Canadian Karate Association (CKA) to open your file.

1. Technical Clinic Requirement
   You will receive a formal invitation from CKA to attend a Technical Evaluation Clinic. You must attend at least three formal CKA Technical Clinics, all within two years prior to your grading.
    
2. Grading Invitation
   After the Technical Clinics and the grading board’s evaluation, a formal invitation to the grading will be sent. This letter will include all relevant details: grading cost, location, date, time, and other necessary formalities.
