 The Board of Directors is vital for the effective governance of the Canadian Karate Association. Comprising essential roles—President, Vice-President, Secretary, Treasurer, and Directors—the Board of Directors ensures leadership and accountability within the organization.

To be considered for a position on the Board of Directors, all required documentation & criteria must be completed & submitted prior to the Annual General Meeting (AGM) & election.


Candidates must:

  1. Be an individual member of the Association in good standing for a minimum of 3 consecutive years & be at least 18 years of age.
  2. Own and operate a

To be considered for a position on the Board of Directors, all required documentation & criteria must be completed & submitted prior to the Annual General Meeting (AGM) & election.


Candidates must:

  1. Be an individual member of the Association in good standing for a minimum of 3 consecutive years & be at least 18 years of age.
  2. Own and operate a registered Karate club that has maintained active membership for a minimum of 3 years.
    -Membership fees: $100 for the first year and $50 annually thereafter.
  3. Ensure that all club members are properly registered for a minimum of 3 years, including: Black Belts – $100 lifetime registration & Kyu Belts – applicable annual registration fee
  4. Wear the official CKA Crest.
  5. Attend all required CKA Clinics and Gradings.
  6. Submit a comprehensive résumé including:
     
    • Full personal identification details
       
    • Rank and certifications
       
    • Copies of all diplomas and credentials
       
    • Club identification details
       
    • Names and ranks of all affiliated Black Belts
       
    • Relevant accomplishments and contributions to the Association
       

Nomination Process

If no eligible candidates are nominated or elected, the Executive Committee reserves the right to nominate a member in good standing. The nomination will then be subject to a vote. Upon approval, the nominee will assume the executive position.
